|Advaita has been our chief interest for a long time and we believe that there is a great need for it to become more widely practised in the community.
Our small group ( Brian Joseph, Brian Hodgkinson, Paul Douglas, Quita Capper and Yvonne Fletcher) has also been studying Modern Western Philosophy for some years and we have found that it complements Advaita in more ways than are ordinarily realized.
We believe that a greater understanding of the philosophical and spiritual ideas that have been expressed over the last three hundred years, helped by the advantage of an Advaitic standpoint, would bring a clearer view of our present troubled time.
We would like to find more people to share our interest, hence this forum aimed at comparing the work of some Western Philosophers with the teachings of Advaita.
We invite questions and contributions relating to the topics we have suggested. The first few are 'Questions of Philosophy', 'Causality' and 'Consciousness'. Others will follow soon.
At some point, thereafter, we might hold an occasional meeting with those who wish to share their views and questions in person.
Please contribute to the forum as the idea really is to share opinions and questions. You don't have to be versed in philosophy; just interested!
You do have to be registered to contribute so, if you haven't already done so, just complete the simple registration process described on the Public Forum' main page.
