|In Case Of Fire
In case of fire donít run, just walk,
Donít shout or criticise, donít talk,
Except to encourage, or help if needed.
See all are safe; none unheeded.
Down the stairs and out to the street,
Round the corner where all should meet.
Stay with your fellows and never mind rain.
Wait for orders to come in again.
Faulty alarm and groups interrupted;
Wasted time and study disrupted.
Got a bit wet, but it could have been worse;
All good practice and subject for a verse.
(Poem written as an exercise for the Schoolís Saturday morning Discovering Poetry group)
