The golden ratio is in nature and is than used by man also. Could it possibly be used in poetry or in writing? Might there be examples?

A question for a queeste! Does anybody have an idea?

I have read that the Sonnet was originally formulated in consideration of the Golden Ratio - an approximation of which is 8 to 5. The reason for the sonnet's 8 lines and 6 lines (rather than 8 & 5) is unknown but said to be either for poetic purposes or because 6 is the first perfect number in Pythagorean number theory.

There is much debate about the meaning of the sonnet form and references made to Plato's Timaeus. Perhaps someone from the Plato forum will see this post and provide some enlightenment?

Thank you, Adam, for your response! I guess I was just looking for guidance to make easy poetry, using the best of mathematics, being a complete but loving amateur. What I remember so far is that nature and ratio should be in harmony...
