|Welcome to the Economics Forum.
"Bad times have a scientific value. These are occasions a good learner would not miss." Ralph Waldo Emerson
Many of the problems today have been with us for a long time. The recent financial and economic crisis has echoes of many previous crises. Are we not learning from our mistakes? Are we not asking ourselves the right questions, and digging deep enough in our efforts to understand?
The purpose of this forum is to encourage a lively discussion on current affairs in economics and to deepen understanding of economic principles - in particular those that could help transform economic systems, communities and individuals towards justice, equity and sustainability.

Guidance on Topics:
To help others follow the thread of a discussion please keep your postings relatively short and to the point. If discussion turns to a different subject, start a new topic or use an appropriate topic that already exists.
Each topic title should relate to the subject matter and help attract attention. A clear description in a new topic's subject field will help guide the subsequent discussion.
Further guidance on this can be found under http://schooleconomicscience.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10
Enjoy the discussions!
